It’s been a busy start to the transfer window for Newcastle United.
Indeed, not only has Lloyd Kelly signed but Newcastle are also reportedly on the hunt for further recruits.
Another defender could well be on the cards after reports emerged suggesting the club had held talks with AC Milan over a move for Malick Thiaw.
The signing of a new striker may also be on the agenda amid reports Newcastle remain interested in Dominic Calvert-Lewin despite reserving some doubts as to his current price tag.
Then, there’s the outgoings.
Luckily, it seems as if Eddie Howe has little desire to sell Alexander Isak despite recent interest from Chelsea.
Bruno Guimaraes, meanwhile, is understood to have seen the release clause active in his contract expire in a further boost for the club.
Still, Newcastle may need to sell to balance the books, which brings us to Yankuba Minteh.
Yankuba Minteh could leave Newcastle United imminently
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Romano revealed that the 19-year-old could leave St James’ Park imminently.
The club are actively trying to sell the attacker, who remains keen on a move to Everton.
So far, it is said to be French side Lyon who have made the best proposal to Newcastle.
Why does Yankuba Minteh want to leave Newcastle?
Though Minteh was reportedly surprised about Newcastle’s decision to sell him after a strong loan spell at Feyenoord, the player has accepted he may have to leave to take the next step in his career.
The idea of playing Premier League football is understood to be his priority right now, explaining why a potential move to Everton is believed to be his ideal next destination.
It will of course be a shame to never see him play for Newcastle but selling Minteh is surely a more palatable outcome than seeing either Guimaraes or Isak leave.
