Newcastle United’s search for a right-side forward has dominate the summer transfer window – but with talks continuing over a deal for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, it has somewhat slipped on to the backburner.
The form of Jacob Murphy in pre-season has allayed some fears over what has been seen as a ‘problem’ position, while Miguel Almiron remains on Tyneside despite rumours linking him with a move away from the club. The 20-year-old featured for France at the Olympics, winning a silver medal, but can leave Lyon for around £13m this summer – a fee which could alert Newcastle’s scouting team. He has one year left remaining on his contract and has played 20 times for France U21s, scoring 11 goals. He made 39 appearances for Lyon last term and despite his young age, has already clocked up 141 games for the French side. He has previously been linked with Liverpool having won praise from the likes of Kylian Mbappe.
