Jamie Carragher was wowed by Dominic Calvert-Lewin against Aston Villa after the woodwork denied the attacker his second goal of the game.
The number-nine terrorised the Villa defence in the 3-2 defeat on 14 September but missed plenty of chances in the final third.

Carragher was wowed after Calvert-Lewin bullied Ezri Konsa on his way towards goal, but his finishing let him down at the highest level yet again.
Speaking live on Sky Sports (14 September, 19:12), Carragher couldn’t hide his astonishment after watching the England international get back to his best in glimpses.
“You know what, the centre-forwards in this game have been absolutely outstanding,” he said.
“Wow, he just puts his foot through it, I mean what a game we’ve had, Calvert-Lewin has been outstanding, great centre-forward display from him.”

On his day, Calvert-Lewin can be one of the best strikers in the Premier League, recently, however, it’s felt like the striker has missed more chances than he’s scored.
The problem that Everton have at the moment, is that Calvert-Lewin is the best choice that Sean Dyche has available.
Indeed, Armando Broja was brought in on deadline day and his inclusion into the team, when fit, could change fortunes, but that isn’t close.
But for now, the Blues have Calvert-Lewin leading their line and he is just that final product away from getting back to his very best.

His positioning and physicality are top notch but he just seems to lack a killer instinct when faced with the goal.
There’s still plenty of time for things to change and now could be the time for Dyche to think about switching up his tactical choices to improve the Toffees’ luck and perhaps manage to hold onto a two-goal lead.
Points are needed, and fast.
