Everton’s takeover turmoil finally seems set to come to an end, with Dan Friedkin the man to thank for providing this light at the end of the tunnel.
However, with one great dramatic saga concluding, as is often the case with the Toffees, another must simply grow to take its place.
And, with reports insisting that Sean Dyche is on thin ice at Everton, it should come as no surprise that the manager’s hot seat is now the chief topic of discussion.

Speaking exclusively to Everton.News, we quizzed Graeme Bailey on how Dan Friedkin’s Everton takeover might now affect the club’s managerial plans.
After all, there has been much speculation over the future of Sean Dyche, with some sections of the fanbase having lost faith in the 53-year-old.

Were they to make a switch, which could come in the next few weeks depending on results, Bailey revealed who remains the frontrunner for the post.
He claimed: ‘Friedkin was always confident when he came back in [to buy Everton]. Obviously, that hurdle had been passed.
‘Friedkin knows what he wants long-term with Everton, he’s assessing the situation. But the main thing now, the operation at Everton is to make sure they start life in the new stadium as a Premier League club. That’s the only thing in the thinking.
‘From my understanding, it’s still David Moyes, he’s the one to come in to solidify the situation. He’s the one who’s going to turn it around quickly, and even if that’s only on a deal until the end of the season, it can help cement his legacy at the club. Not that he needs to.
‘I think Moyes until the end of the season makes all the sense in the world.
‘It’s going to take an awful lot for Sean Dyche. He’s going to have to get something out of these next two games before the international break to still be in charge.
‘I suspect that Moyes might be back in by the international break. That’s my personal opinion. I hope for Sean Dyche it doesn’t but there comes a time when they have to make a change.’
Would David Moyes really be much better than Sean Dyche?
Although Moyes might provide a new injection of energy to the club for a little while, and his connection to the fans is undeniable, this return would not be as perfect as some are suggesting.
After all, his relationship with Evertonians might be strong, but there are also many who remember how he promised to leave the club alone when he left for Manchester United, only to instantly return to try and pry Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines from Goodison Park.

Not to mention that his style, particularly with West Ham United in recent years, is far from the dramatic chance that some might want when pivoting from Dyche.
Last season, whilst Everton had the third-least average possession in the Premier League, his Irons outfit had the fourth-least. Given the disparity in quality between the squads, this is alarming, even if Ange Postecoglou insisted he was an ‘outstanding’ manager.
Hiring Moyes would, at best, provide a brief new manager bounce.
Then, the same problems that Dyche has encountered would plague the Scotsman too.
