Newcastle United full-back Kieran Trippier has reportedly told the club he wants to leave as three European clubs plot to sign him.

The 34-year-old defender had been linked with a move away from St. James’ Park throughout the summer but ultimately stuck with the club.

According to The Sun, Trippier is now “desperate” to leave Newcastle in search of more regular first-team football.

The former England international has informed Howe of his desire to play more regularly, and he is now looking to secure a permanent move away from Tyneside this summer.

Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce are currently leading the race to land his signature, with Italian sides AC Milan and Atalanta also interested in him.

Trippier’s current Newcastle contract expires in the summer of 2026.

Trippier has seen his game time significantly reduced this season, having only made three appearances in the Premier League.

Two of those have come from the bench, with the experienced defender only getting his first start this past weekend during Newcastle’s first loss of the season against Fulham.

Trippier made 26 starts last season in the Premier League while also featuring 11 times in other competitions.

The full-back has a 67% tackle success rate this season and has won half of his duels.

However, Howe has been opting to start either Tino Livramento or Lewis Hall in his position this season.
