Newcastle United defender Lewis Hall is playing the best football of his career.
The 20-year-old is now a regular starter for Newcastle United, having made the left-back position his own.

Hall was excellent during Newcastle’s win over Chelsea, as he showed his former club exactly what they are missing.
The youngster has really hit his stride since his loan move became permanent in the summer. Hall is now playing so well that £28million looks cheap.
But it has not been a straightforward start to his Newcastle United career. This time last year, big questions were already being asked. He did not look up to the standard, while Eddie Howe became reluctant to play him.
It was only towards the end of the season that Lewis Hall got a chance, as he started to show signs of improvement. Since then, he has gone from strength to strength and is continuously getting better.

Lewis Hall reflects on the start of his Newcastle United career after award win
That is summed up by the fact that he has been named as Newcastle’s player of the month for October.
Hall featured in all five of Newcastle’s games during October, and has now been recognised for his excellent performances.
After being given the award, Hall has spoken to the club’s official website, and offered a very honest reflection on the start of his Newcastle United career.
“I don’t think that I necessarily started too well at the club, but the fans stuck by me and this season in particular I’ve had a lot more to offer,” he said.
“It’s taken a couple of games to find my rhythm and flow, but now I feel a lot more confident so hopefully I can show more of what I can bring to the team and help us to achieve big things.”
Will Osula will pay close attention to Lewis Hall’s Newcastle improvement
The way that Hall has kicked on at Newcastle should act as motivation for any young player at St James’ Park – particularly Will Osula.
You could argue that Hall was a project player when he arrived on Tyneside. He was bought because of his potential, rather than his current ability. He was an investment for the future, despite fears that Newcastle would never get a return on their investment.
Fast forward a year and Hall is becoming a star. Meanwhile, another Newcastle project player is struggling for minutes and yet to look the part in Eddie Howe’s team.
Will Osula is still searching for his first Newcastle United goal. He has only started one game, while he has been limited to late substitute appearances in the Premier League.
Osula is very raw, and looks a long way away from being at the level required. But the potential is there, and Osula is in the right place to grow and develop his game.
By watching Hall’s rise, Osula can see what happens to young players at Newcastle over time. But that is the key factor – it takes time. Osula will not be an instant success, but he should be confident that he can achieve his potential on Tyneside.
Newcastle should be confident too, as they have a manager in Eddie Howe who is an expert at making players better.
Lewis Hall is a shining example of that.
