Alexander Isak starred against Arsenal on the weekend, and the 25-year-old has had to lead the line on his own for Newcastle this season with Callum Wilson still yet to make an appearance this season.
Wilson was linked with a move away from Newcastle this summer and continues to be linked with an exit in January. One club is now in pole position to sign Wilson in 2025.
Should the 32-year-old be sold, Newcastle will need to strengthen their striker department. William Osula was signed for £10m this summer but is not yet ready to be a consistent starter.

David has been in great form at French side Lille with 12 goals in 17 appearances already this season.
He is set to become hot property in the transfer market next summer when his Lille deal expires and he becomes a free agent.
Newcastle are admirers of David and as a free agent he would help the club navigate their issues with the Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules.
David is not Paul Mitchell’s priority in January as Newcastle would likely wait until the summer to get him for free. Newcastle would prefer to sign a right winger in January.
Newcastle are in the running for David, but he has also been linked to other clubs across Europe including Juventus and Inter Milan.
Newcastle learn Jonathan David’s salary demands
While David could arrive as a free agent next summer with zero transfer fee, it will still be costly to sign a striker of his calibre.
According to Italian outlet TuttoJuve, David will demand a salary of €6million per season (£5m), which equates to just under £100,000 per week.

It adds that David’s signing will also include a €10million commission for his agent.
The report adds that these are “high demands” from David, which could “bring David closer to the Premier League”.
