Everton are one of the more probable clubs to sign Lyon forward Rayan Cherki this month and it could spell the end of Jack Harrison’s nightmare on Merseyside.
Harrison has endured a horrid season for the Toffees since arriving on loan from Leeds United for a second time and Everton must surely be considering the cancellation of his contract at Goodison Park.
Simply put, he has failed to offer anything of note under Sean Dyche and with Everton said to be more likely to sign Cherki over the likes of Liverpool (The Business Standard, 1 January pg 13), The Friedkin Group simply have to chase the deal in January.
The Frenchman would be an instant upgrade on Harrison and the Toffees would be foolish to not at least enquire about a deal given the update.

Attacking concerns have haunted the Toffees all season and January will present the perfect opportunity to rectify that and with Cherki seemingly on his way out of Lyon, it’s a deal that must be considered.
If reinforcements can be captured, Everton have every chance of avoiding the drop but a failure to do that could very well seal the end of their time in the Premier League and that has to be in the back of the mind of TFG.
Early business is often the key to a successful window with clubs far more reluctant to let their players leave in the latter stages with fears that they’ll struggle to replace them and an early swoop for Cherki could see the Toffees land one of the most promising prospects to have come from France in recent years.
It could also spell the end for Harrison, something that could be welcomed by all parties.
