Tottenham keen on finding star’s replacement come January transfer window

According to Fichajes, Tottenham may have identified a player with whom they want to replace Pedro Porro, as they could have stepped up their interest in Andrei Ratiu. The Rayo Vallecano wide man has been impressing in La Liga, which could see Spurs make a move for him in January.

Tottenham are already planning for windows ahead, and they have now set sights on Rayo Vallecano full-back Andrei Ratiu ahead of the January window. The Romanian star has been impressing in Spain since his move in 2023 and could not get the chance to sign for a top English side.

He could join his countryman Radu Dragusin as part of the Tottenham defence, with Vallecano not opposed to a sale. Ratiu has a €25 million release clause in his contract, and should the Spanish club get anywhere near that sum; they will be open to sale.

In fact, Vallecano are open to negotiating for the €25 million-rated La Liga wide man, meaning Spurs could potentially get Ratiu for much less than his release clause. Tottenham view the Romanian as a potential replacement option for Pedro Porro, although he might not be alone on that list.

Real Madrid are interested in Porro ahead of future windows, although there are doubts about whether Tottenham will open the doors in January. The Spaniard remains a key part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans, and he will be key for their push for a top-four place. Hence, even if they manage to get Ratiu through the door in January, it will be with the view of letting the player adapt before taking over from Porro later, probably in the summer.
