Newcastle United are willing to sell Callum Wilson during the upcoming January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
The Magpies have set an asking price of less than £10million for the 32-year-old, despite the fact he has returned to fitness.
Newcastle Getting ‘Desperate’ For Attacker – O’Rourke: Linked To ‘Potential Replacement For Salah’
Wilson played his first game of the season against West Ham on Monday (25 November) as he came off the bench to feature for 22 minutes after missing the start of the season with a back injury.
Football Insider had revealed in September that the Magpies are set to receive offers for the experienced striker from Fulham and Brentford, and Eddie Howe’s side are willing to let him go.
Wilson is out of contract at St James’ Park at the end of the season, meaning the January transfer window will be the club’s last chance to cash in on him unless he signs a new deal.
The Magpies had been willing to let Wilson leave during the summer, but his back injury put teams off making a move for him as his status was unclear.
Newcastle are cashing in on Callum Wilson to re-strengthen
Football Insider previously revealed that selling Wilson is part of Newcastle’s plan to facilitate a move for a new striker, to strengthen Howe’s options.
Signing a striker is a priority for Howe after the injuries he’s had to juggle in that area of the pitch with Wilson and Alexander Isak this season.
Wilson has dealt with injury issues throughout his time at the club as he missed 18 Premier League games last season and a further 11 this campaign.

Wilson is a proven commodity in the English top flight, having scored 88 goals in 222 appearances in the Premier League throughout his career.
A move at this stage of his career would be seen as the last big opportunity of his career given Wilson’s age and he would be heading to a new club fit enough to play again.
