It has been a rollercoaster of a journey under Eddie Howe, who steered Newcastle United clear of relegation in his first season before leading the Magpies to Champions League qualification.
Howe celebrated three years as Newcastle bosslast month and he is now starting to face a bit of pressure over his position.
After missing out last season, Howe is expected to qualify for Europe this campaign. If he fails to achieve that goal, Newcastle chiefs could be forced into a very difficult decision.
If there was any doubt that Newcastle players are not fully behind Howe, they silenced those concerns with a superb 3-3 draw against Premier League leaders Liverpool on Wednesday afternoon.

Newcastle returned to the Champions League for the first time in over 20 years under Howe, but he has his sights set on something even bigger.
Ever since the PIF takeover and Howe’s appointment, full focus has been on winning silverware.
In a recent appearance on the Up Front podcast, Howe spoke about his aspirations and desire to win a trophy at Newcastle.
When asked if he wants to win silverware for Newcastle, Howe replied: “I always have done. I made it clear when I came here that was my dream. That was my personal dream.
“To try and bring some silverware to this unbelievable club. It’s been too long.
“There’s a desire from everyone internally to make that happen. We came close. We want to go closer.”
Newcastle’s best chance of winning silverware
Newcastle have put themselves in a strong position to challenge for silverware this season.
After beating Nottingham Forest, AFC Wimbledon and Chelsea, Newcastle are through to the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup, where they are set to face Brentford later this month.
With no European football this season, Newcastle’s other opportunity to win silverware is in the FA Cup, where they have been drawn against League Two opponents Bromley.
Newcastle came within touching distance of silverware when they reached the Carabao Cup final in 2023. They suffered a 2-0 defeat to Manchester United but Howe was fired up to deliver a trophy.
He still remains determined to do so.
