Dele Alli to Como latest: ‘Significant new Everton update’

Dele Alli has not left Everton despite being offered the chance to train with Como, according to David Anderson.

Anderson is the Daily Mirror’s northern football writer and wrote on X on 17 December that the Englishman is “welcome to train” with Cesc Fabregas’s side but is yet to do so.

His contract with the Toffees expired in the summer, but he continues to train with the Merseyside club as he regains his fitness.

He recently showed on social media that he is still working towards potentially a new deal despite his latest injury setback.

Everton could consider Dele Alli if he returns to fitness

Sean Dyche’s side recently earned a hard-earned point at the Emirates against Arsenal in their bid for survival.

Those sorts of results may impress prospective owner Dan Friedkin who won’t make an immediate decision regarding the manager’s future.

One thing the American billionaire might’ve noticed if he had been watching Everton is their lack of goals.

The Friedkin Group are set to take over Everton this month.

They’ve only managed 14 in 15 games this season. Four of them came against a struggling Wolves side that sacked Gary O’Neil soon after.

They’ve been linked with January moves, but all is uncertain with The Friedkin Group supposedly taking over any day now.

A deal was agreed upon in September, but they have no plans for to rush any decisions once everything is finally confirmed. However, they clearly hope the club avoid relegation, as they could halt any plans they have.

Alli could prove to be a creative asset if he impresses Everton bosses in training despite his poor stint with them, although whether there is any hope of that happening this season is perhaps in doubt.

The 28-year-old seems to have shown his commitment by continuing to work with the Toffees despite the offer to train with Como, and fans will hope it eventually pays off if he does stay on Merseyside.
