On Tuesday evening, the Toffees did see their name go down in FIFA history, but not necessarily for the reasons they will have wanted to.

Alejandro Garnacho’s goal for Man United vs Everton wins Puskas award
Promising times are on the horizon for the Toffees with The Friedkin Group planning their takeover announcement before the end of the week.
But, on Tuesday, Everton were reminded of their recent struggles as Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho’s stunning overhead kick against Everton won the Puskas award.
Not many could argue against the goal winning the award, but it has left Everton with an unwanted place in the FIFA history books as they become the first club to concede two Puskas-winning goals.
Jordan Pickford impressed Arsenal fans over the weekend with some of his incredible saves to keep a clean sheet.
But there was nothing Pickford could have done to stop the Argentine’s overhead kick from going in last season.

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah also scored Puskas winner against Everton
It is not a trend which Everton fans will want to see continue as they also saw Mohamed Salah’s goal in the Merseyside Derby win the 2018 award.
There will still be a lot of debate as to whether Salah should have won the award with plenty of other stunning goals to choose from.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta criticised Everton on the weekend for not showing enough attacking threat of their own on the weekend.
But given Everton’s position in the league, Dyche’s side managed the game incredibly well to secure themselves an unexpected point.
Many people will expect Everton to be turned over like they did in these games where the Puskas-winning goal has been scored, but they have shown some more promising signs in recent weeks.
