Setting their sights on the summer transfer window, Newcastle United have now reportedly joined the hectic race to sign a Premier League talent who has matched Anthony Gordon for goal involvements.

After winning the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool before the international break, Newcastle will now have their focus set on picking up where they left off and securing their place in the Champions League. Currently sat sixth, the Magpies may need to move up just one place – taking over Manchester City – to reach Europe’s elite this season with fifth likely to be enough in England’s top flight.
If that is to be the case, then Eddie Howe’s side could yet enjoy the ultimate success, having already ended their long, painful wait for silverware. That Champions League place would make all the difference on the transfer front too.

Valued at €40m (£33m) by the Cherries, a deal should certainly be a feasible one for those at St James’ Park this summer. That fee could also turn into quite the bargain if Ouattara goes on to improve even further, which is more than possible at just 23 years old.
Up against Premier League rivals Aston Villa, Champions League qualification could yet prove to be a crucial factor in the race to sign the Bournemouth star this summer.
“Superb” Ouattara is as good as Gordon
A player capable of playing on both the left and right wing, Ouattara could yet arrive at St James’ Park to complete Eddie Howe’s frontline alongside Gordon and Alexander Isak. As impressive as Jacob Murphy has been on the right of that front three this season, there are still question marks over whether he can reach Gordon’s level on the other side – questions that Newcastle wouldn’t have over Ouattara.

Involved in as many goals as the former Everton man this season, despite starting 10 fewer games, there’s no doubt that Ouattara is one to watch this summer.
Like many of his Bournemouth teammates, the winger has found himself at the centre of praise throughout what has been an excellent campaign, including from Jacek Kulig. The football talent scout had nothing but good things to say about the 23-year-old, dubbing him “superb” for Andoni Iraola’s side.
