While goals haven’t been much of a problem at Newcastle of late, Eddie Howe’s side are lacking viable alternatives to Alexander Isak.

Indeed, Callum Wilson remains as injury-prone as ever and is expected to leave this summer anyway upon the expiration of his contract.
There may reportedly be high hopes for summer signing Will Osula too but the Newcastle United manager hasn’t handed much in the way of first-team minutes thus far.

Isak, of course, is one of the leading strikers in world football and will almost certainly be the first-choice option there for as long as he’s at St James’ Park.
Still, the Sweden international is not without his fitness concerns and the hope will be that next season sees Newcastle play European football, adding to the already busy schedule.
With that in mind, it’s logical the club would be looking to bolster their ranks in the frontline.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin continues to be linked with a move to the club and some more insight into the potential deal has emerged.
Newcastle preparing big contract offer for Dominic Calvert-Lewin
According to The Sun, Newcastle are firm favourites to sign the England international.
Fiorentina are said to be keen but the striker is said to be settled in the Premier League, perhaps giving Newcastle the edge.
The report adds that Newcastle are prepared to offer him a “major contract” this summer when his deal at Everton expires.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin may have had his head turned
Howe is believed to be a big fan of Calvert-Lewin’s.
Still, the forward is hardly in particularly inspiring form having scored just twice this season.
There may be a reason for that, however. Everton have struggled at times and former Toffees defender Alan Stubbs recently claimed the player looked as if his head had been turned, given his contractual status.
