The two Everton signings the Friedkin Group have listed as a priority in January

With the January transfer window now open for business, Everton fans will be hoping to see some upgrades arrive after a shaky start to the season.

It has been far from convincing on Merseyside with Everton stuck around the bottom three once again.

Sean Dyche had been able to deliver some impressive results against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City in December, but Everton returned to losing ways on the weekend.

The Friedkin Group have been impressed at Everton with the work which has gone on behind the scenes ahead of their arrival.

However, they have certainly been greeted with a considerable list of improvements to make.

And there are already two positions which The Friedkin Group have identified as being a real priority for the January transfer window.

Alan Myers has already suggested Everton are expected to dive into the January window, but there may not be a load of business done.

And according to Sky Sports, there are two positions which have been identified as priority areas for this month’s market.

Those two positions being eyed by the Friedkins are a new forward and midfielder with room for improvement clear from the opening months of the term.

It is claimed two signings is currently the ‘most likely’ outcome from the January window for the Toffees as the new owners get their feet under the table.

Everton have more than just new signings to consider with Sean Dyche at risk of being sacked if results worsen over the coming weeks.

But the 53-year-old will certainly be keen to see some new faces come through the doors after an injury-stricken start to the season.

Everton not prioritising a new left-back in January

The report also suggests a new left-back is being looked at by the Friedkins this months, but it is not viewed as a priority.

This comes following a lot of criticism for Vitaliy Mykolenko this season from sections of the Everton crowd.

Left-back is not an area which Everton are blessed with depth as the Ukraine international marks their only real senior option in that position.

Dyche slammed Mykolenko’s ‘lazy’ challenge against Man City the other week in what has been a poor start to the campaign for him.
