Sean Dyche made some outrageous comments after Everton crashed to defeat at Bournemouth on Saturday, and surely now faces the sack.

The Toffees fell to a late 1-0 defeat at the Vitality Stadium on 4 January, with David Brooks coming off the bench to score an inevitable winner.

Dyche, who is under pressure of the sack, admitted that the recent form would be good if Everton added some wins in there, before saying that hasn’t happened.

Speaking after the defeat on Saturday, as shared by the club on X, Dyche made the unbelievable comment to somehow save his own skin.

“I’ve never made excuses since I’ve been here,” he said.

“We’ve had so many draws and the runs still not really on paper, a bad run if you add wins in it, but we haven’t had wins.”

It is an insult to the thousands of fans that travel around the country in freezing temperatures, spending hard-earned money to watch rubbish, to say that after another defeat.

The Toffees have won once since October 20 and that was the 4-0 thrashing of Wolves, who have since sacked their manager and won more games at Molineux.

Yes, Everton have faced tough teams like Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City recently, picking up draws in each, but they still haven’t won enough games.

Dyche has drawn to West Ham, Brentford and Leicester too, losing at Southampton – games which should represent great chances for wins.

If The Friedkin Group want to be taken seriously after its takeover was complete, they have to pull the trigger and sack Dyche now.

This is the perfect time to do it too, with FA Cup action against Peterborough up next and two weeks before the next Premier League fixture.
