Torino launched a late-night “blitz” to sign Everton forward Beto on Monday, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Italian journalist reported via his website (7 January) that the Serie A outfit are pressing the Blues for an answer regarding Beto amid reports they are closing in on a loan-to-buy agreement for the forward [Giacomo Morandin].
However, despite Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers reporting on Monday (6 January) that no deal has been struck with Everton to sanction Beto’s departure, it appears Torino are stepping up the pressure on Kevin Thelwell.
Everton could deny Beto a move to Torino
In an ideal world, the Toffees would allow Beto to leave this month with a permanent deal agreed upon for the summer, and all involved can forget his torrid spell at Goodison Park.
The 26-year-old has scored four goals in 42 Premier League appearances since arriving from Udinese, averaging one goal over every 10 games.
Furthermore, Beto was spotted at Manchester Airport on Sunday (5 January) and is believed to already be in Italy ahead of a potential move – it is clear both parties are eager to end the association.
However, Armando Broja was forced off the pitch after 32 minutes during the 1-0 loss against Bournemouth on Saturday (4 January), leaving Sean Dyche with a nervous wait to learn the outcome of another potential injury setback.
All will be revealed when the Blues boss takes to his pre-match press conference for the FA Cup third-round tie against Peterborough United, and will be telling on where Beto will play his football for the remainder of the season.
The Guinea-Bissau international will leave Merseyside at some point, and Evertonians hope Broja has escaped serious injury so Beto can finally end his Goodison Park nightmare.
