Newcastle have one eye on Dominic Calvert-Lewin
According to the Chronicle Live, Newcastle United have one eye on Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Magpies boss Eddie Howe is a big fan of the 27-year-old but with his contract up in just six months time, it could be a transfer that happens in the summer when he’s available on a free.
Calvert-Lewin would then get a bigger payday if he was to wait, so at this stage, a winter exit seems unlikely.
Plus, Moyes has already made it clear that the Everton frontman could be the difference maker in his side.
“I think we all feel he can be the one who can be a big difference. Get his goalscoring boots back on, it’ll be a big help to Evertonians and to the manager as well.
“We’ll give him as much confidence and help him as much as we can and we’ll give him as much praise as we can.”
West Ham United also in race to sign Calvert-Lewin
Everton News reported earlier this week that West Ham United are also considering a swoop for Calvert-Lewin after Niclas Fullkrug’s injury.
The Hammers are set to make an official enquiry as Graham Potter looks to bring in a centre-forward this month.
Atalanta have also been linked with Calvert-Lewin and a representative flew to Merseyside to hold talks with the former England international.
So competition is certainly rife.
