Ernest Nuamah makes decision on whether to join Everton after Lyon talks

David Moyes has now seen first-hand the task which he has taken on at Goodison Park, following their defeat on Wednesday evening.

The same issues were on display for Everton with the Toffees failing to find the back of the net against Aston Villa.

As fans await their first signing, Moyes has identified two positions he wants to address before the end of the window.

Goals are exactly what Everton need and the Friedkins have been tasked with finding new forwards to bolster their attacking options.

With talks taking place, Ernest Nuamah has now decided whether he’d like to sign for Everton this month.

Ernest Nuamah is open to joining Everton

Everton are in discussions over signing Nuamah from John Textor’s Lyon to add to Moyes’ attacking options.

The winger has been valued in the region of £25m this month, with Everton keen to avoid a bidding war.

And according to Sky Sports, Nuamah has now made the decision that he would be open to joining the Toffees.

Although talks are said to have taken place, it is claimed the changing of manager on Merseyside has delayed the potential deal.

Textor has previously pushed Nuamah’s sale to the Premier League last summer, which did not reflect well on the Lyon owner.

Having missed out on Jaden Philogene, it seems as if Everton could have taken a step closer to finally adding to their options out wide.

The Friedkins backing Kevin Thelwell’s judgement

It has been suggested Everton could sack Kevin Thelwell in the coming months with his replacement already lined up.

However, it seems as if the Everton director of football is set to remain in his role for now, following Sean Dyche’s sacking.

Thelwell is a big fan of Nuamah, which may be a big sign of support from the new Everton owners that they are backing his judgement.

Jack Harrison was given the nod by Moyes on Wednesday night before being dragged off, perhaps the showing against Villa highlighted the importance of adding a new winger.

Moyes has made no secret of demanding new signings and it seems the Friedkins are listening.
