TFG have deal all but done for first new signing at Everton

Everton are closing in on securing their first signing under The Friedkin Group as Ernest Nuamah has approved a move to Goodison Park, according to Graeme Bailey.

Bailey, via Everton.News (17 January), has reported that Nuamah – who was pursued by Everton in the summer – has given the green light for the Toffees to sign him from Lyon during the current transfer window.

Celebrities Who Have Had Strange Pets

It is understood early talks between the Merseysiders and the Ghanaian winger have gone “extremely well”, after Fulham had attempted to hijack Everton’s move in the last window, and only days ago it appeared Nuamah was not an immediate priority at Goodison Park.

Everton are no strangers to business with Nuamah’s current club Lyon, having signed both Orel Mangala and Jake O’Brien from the Ligue 1 outfit last summer.

The relationship between the French club’s owner John Textor and the Toffees has been highly publicised over recent months, with the American businessman having been a contender to take over the club from previous owner Farhad Moshiri.

It now appears that TFG and Textor are directly overseeing transfer business, as Nuamah, 21, edges closer to a switch to the Premier League.

With 12 caps for Ghana and 17 appearances for Lyon’s first team this season, the winger can bring some added excitement to David Moyes’ attacking options, a boost it desperately needs with the side having scored the second-fewest goals in the top flight this season.

Nuamah’s professional career began with Danish side Nordsjaelland, before a move to Molenbeek in Belgium and an immediate loan to Lyon, where he then signed permanently last summer.

In other Everton news, Paul Merson has little faith in Moyes to secure a result this weekend v Tottenham.
