Jesper Lindstrom has ‘saved himself’ under Moyes after what Everton fans did
Everton got their first win of the second David Moyes era with a 3-2 victory against Tottenham at Goodison Park.
It was a victory that was fully deserved as the Toffees were the best side throughout the afternoon with a number of players stepping up their performances on Sunday (19 November).
However, after a goal in the 13th minute, the energy in Merseyside lifted and the players were clearly feeding off the atmosphere inside the stadium.
One player who put in an unusually strong display on the afternoon was Jesper Lindstrom, who executed his duties solidly throughout the game.
After the game, the 24-year-old felt the love from his supporters as Liverpool Echo journalist Joe Thomas posted on X (19 January): “Lindstrom comes off to a rousing reception that is fully deserved. This has been his best performance for Everton by far.”

Since joining the Toffees on loan from Napoli in the summer, Lindstrom has struggled to get going at Goodison Park and often has delivered performances well below what is expected.
In a game where a lot of players impressed, Lindstrom was certainly among the players to stand up and be counted in what will hopefully prove a turning point in the Toffees’ season.
According to FotMob, the winger made the most tackles in the game as well as contributing nine defensive actions, showing he was willing to do the dirty work as well as contribute going forward.
The 24-year-old also had a passing accuracy of 90% showing a much higher standard of performance than supporters have been used to this term.
With the arrival of Moyes at Goodison, this could prove to be exactly what a number of players need to give them a boost ahead of the second half of the campaign and save their seasons.
And for Lindstrom, he might just have saved himself at Everton and will look to build on this to earn a permanent stay.
