Tottenham Hotspur are looking to increase their depth in the attacking midfield role in Ange Postecoglou’s roster, and the North Londoners have reportedly been looking at signing high-flying Argentine attacking sensation Facundo Buonanotte, who is currently taking massive strides in his loan spell at Leicester City from Brighton. And according to a recent report by Fichajes, there have already been negotiations with the Lilywhites likely engaging with both the Seagulls and the player’s agent.
Buonanotte will solve offensive problems and more at N17
Spurs have been struggling with inconsistency in the ongoing campaign, particularly in making as well as converting those chances. And in Buonanotte, Ange Postecoglou can add someone who is known for his creativity, flair, and goal-scoring ability, which could help the North Londoners be more potent once they have sustained possession in the final third.
The 20-year-old is a versatile profile who can feature in not only a central attacking midfield role but also take up wide positions, and the fact that he can slot into multiple pockets in one game brings tactical diversity to Postecoglou’s side, where he can go on to compete with the likes of James Maddison and possibly take up his space in the eleven.
Buonanotte is said to be valued at around £25 million, an amount that Daniel Levy can easily flex; however, for any move to happen in the ongoing winter window, Tottenham will have to deal with Brighton as well as Leicester City given his current loan at King Power.
It is to be seen if this transfer materialises, but the interest in the Argentine ace shows that Tottenham is serious about upgrading and taking those next steps to raise the ceiling of the squad.
