Everton target Marcus Edwards left out of Sporting CP squad
According to journalist Harry Watkinson, Everton are showing an interest in Marcus Edwards in the final weeks of the window.
And there has now been a potentially promising development surrounding the future of the former Tottenham Hotspur playmaker.
Sporting CP are in Champions League action on Wednesday night against RB Leipzig, but the Englishman will not be involved in the action.
Edwards has been left out of the squad travelling to Germany for the game on Wednesday.
Speaking to the media, his manager Rui Borges, has admitted Edwards will miss the game due to disciplinary reasons.
The Friedkins want to sign a new forward for Everton, but Borges’ comments may well cause some concern for those on Merseyside.

Marcus Edwards could provide Everton with real quality
Since leaving Spurs, Edwards has enjoyed a positive spell over in Portugal where he has mainly shone in Lisbon.
Speaking about the Englishman, Owen Hargreaves waxed lyrical about Edwards’ technical ability.
“On the ball, dribbling at people, he’s up there,” Hargreaves said.
“He leaves people for dead. Technically he’s fantastic.
“The young man has so much ability with the ball at his feet, makes it look easy.”
The 26-year-old’s absence could well be a sign that Sporting are willing to move on from him this month.
But given it is down to disciplinary issues, it could well raise some concerns.
