Vitalii Mykolenko breaks silence on ‘hard’ life at Everton
It’s been a challenge for everyone to get behind the club after continuous failures in the Premier League, as the Everton boss will need to work miracles to get the Toffees back in the top half consistently.
Moyes is embarrassed by Everton’s decline and will want to regain the spirit around the club after his successful first spell, and Mykolenko will want to be a part of that.
The left-back will be considering his future as Everton have started contract talks with Mykolenko, hoping the 25-year-old will renew at Goodison Park.
Mykolenko is someone who has been ‘struggling’ with the past few seasons, as he’s revealed the affect it’s having on him.
Speaking to BBC Total Sport Merseyside (1:22:58), the Ukrainian said ‘It’s mentally hard’.
“When you play three years and every year there is a relegation battle, it’s not very easy for me, I’ve been struggling with this,” Mykolenko said.
“I try to help us not get into a relegation battle, so I’m trying to get better.
“I wake up every morning, worrying about it, especially in the first season, I couldn’t sleep sometimes.”

Mykolenko on what Moyes wants at Everton
After his arrival, Moyes has already sent warnings to Everton players making it aware that he isn’t here for failure in the Premier League to continue.
After their 3-2 victory last week, it seems as though it’s been engraved into their minds about how much Everton means to Moyes.
The left-back continued to speak (1:19:37) on what the new Everton boss is expecting at Goodison.
“When a new manager comes in, for me especially it’s good because you will learn something new.
“He wants us to be more consistent in the defensive phase and be more attacking – everyone has to take responsibility on our defensive mistakes.
“The same goes for when we are not scoring goals, everyone has to take responsibility.”
Moyes is clearly working on Everton’s attack and judging by what Mykolenko has said, it has reflected well on the pitch so far.
