West Ham have offered a pre-contract to Lille midfielder Angel Gomes, according to Graeme Bailey.
The journalist reported to TBR Football on 22 January that the Hammers boss Graham Potter wants the England international at the London Stadium.
Now the Irons have made an offer to the 24-year-old who’s contract looks set to expire with the Ligue 1 side at the end of the season.

It appears that the new head coach at the London Stadium wants to rebuild the midfield he has at his disposal.
This has seen an approach be made to sign Ezechiel Banzuzi from OH Leuven in the winter window after agreeing a £10million deal [Rob Dorsett].
The 19-year-old could be seen as one for the future whereas Gomes would certainly represent a readymade starting option for the Hammers.
The former Manchester United midfielder has become a regular for Lille since moving to France back in the summer of 2021.
His form in recent months has also seen him earn a call up to the England senior squad which is a spot he will hope to maintain under Thomas Tuchel.
A move to join the Irons may be seen as a way to remain in the Three Lions’ thinking which could also push Potter’s side in the right direction.
If the ex-Brighton boss gets his way, there is every reason for supporters to be excited about the future under the new manager.
