Everton are finding themselves stuck in the middle of a January transfer saga.
Ernest Nuamah is the player in question as Everton look to bolster their attacking options before the end of the month.
Sunday’s game against Tottenham Hotspur provided plenty for Everton fans to be positive about for the remaining months of the season.
David Moyes was able to secure the club’s first league win of the year in his second game in charge, but work is still needing to be done.
Kevin Thelwell and Moyes are assessing transfer targets with just under two weeks remaining in the window.
And there has now been a fresh twist in the pursuit of Nuamah.

Everton are still pushing to sign Ernest Nuamah
On Tuesday, reliable reporter Alan Myers claimed Everton were unlikely to sign Nuamah from Lyon this month.
It will have come as a real blow for the Blues who are in need of some new forwards.
However, there has been another twist as Fabrizio Romano has claimed the Toffees are still very much in the race to sign the 21-year-old.
“Now, as you mentioned, the deal is stalling,” he told GiveMeSport.
“But from what I’m hearing, they’re still there, still trying to reach an agreement with the player’s side. With Olympique Lyon it’s quite easy because of the financial situation, so Everton understand that the player could leave.
“Let’s see what happens on the player’s side in the next days.”
Nuamah was included in Lyon’s matchday squad over the weekend for their game against Toulouse in Ligue 1.
Despite being in the middle of all this transfer speculation, Nuamah did feature for the French side.

Everton must be sure on Nuamah to pursue him
The clock is ticking on Everton for any pieces of business to be completed before the end of the window.
Nuamah is open to joining Everton this month, but it is whether the two clubs can come to an agreement.
What Everton cannot afford to do is get involved in a transfer saga which could drag on till the final days of the window.
Moyes wants a new forward this month and potentially losing out on a deal for Nuamah would be a real blow if it is to drag on.
But Everton must be convinced Nuamah is the man for them if they are to hold their nerve in their pursuit of the winger.
