Stefan Borson drops Tottenham transfer claim as paperwork filed
Tottenham have plenty of capacity to make new signings this month after last season’s financial results have been revealed.
That is the view of finance expert Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider the question will be around whether Spurs chiefs want to spend more money before the transfer window closes on 3 February.
Deloitte’s 2025 Money League revealed Tottenham’s overall revenue fell from £550million in 2022-23 to £528million last season.
But their commercial income increased from £228million to £255million as they continue to cash in on opportunities at their new stadium.
Spurs’ wage bill fell from £251million to £222million last season, meaning just 42 per cent of their revenue is taken up by their salary expenditure.
Ange Postecoglou’s side have made just one new addition this month, with goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky joining for £12.5million from Slavia Prague.

Tottenham wage bill is on par with Newcastle and Aston Villa
Borson revealed Spurs’ wage bill is now on par with the likes of Newcastle United and Aston Villa following their latest cuts.
He told Football Insider: “Possibly the starkest revelation from the whole of the Deloitte report was that Spurs have got a 42 per cent wage-to-revenue ratio, which is way lower than anybody else.
“It puts them in a wage bill that’s in the Newcastle and Aston Villa group, as opposed to the Man City, Man United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea group, which is way over £300million.
“City are over £400million, albeit with some league bonuses.
“Spurs are way down at £222million.
“Of course, we know that commercially they are flying.
“They did more than £250million last year and that’s still without the sale of naming rights for the stadium.
“They have got plenty of capacity to make signings.
“The question as always with Spurs is whether they want to spend it.”
