Everton no longer have a chance to sign Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka on loan, according to TBR Football.
The online news outlet reported on Wednesday (29 January) that the midfielder has chosen Juventus as his loan destination, and they will proceed with the move once the loan departure of Douglas Luiz to Manchester City is sanctioned.

Everton will not sign Carney Chukwuemeka
It is a shame that the Toffees will miss out on Chukwuemeka, who is now expected to join Juventus on a loan with an option to purchase from Chelsea.
However, it could also be a blessing in disguise, as Everton would have had to overcome many more obstacles than their competitors to strike a deal.
The former England Under-21s international was discussed in talks between Chelsea and the Toffees to terminate Armando Broja’s loan, but the West London outfit are eager for the compensation to be paid in full regardless of the outcome [Kieran Maguire].
With Everton already occupying the two maximum domestic loan spots, a deal for Chukwuemeka would have required far too much time and energy, with other positions that need to be addressed before the deadline.

Furthermore, Newcastle United have made long-standing transfer target Sean Longstaff available, with Eddie Howe aiming to avoid PSR sanctions. This would be a more achievable target for Moyes [The Athletic].
Manchester City may have scuppered the Blues’ chances with their move for Luiz, setting off a domino effect, but it could prove to be a blessing in disguise in the long run.
