Everton will announce Carlos Alcaraz’s arrival from Flamengo on Monday night, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Writing via his personal X account at 9:04pm on transfer deadline day (3 February), Romano reported that Everton are still completing the final details of the 22-year-old midfielder’s loan move to Goodison.

It is understood that the loan deal taking the ex-Southampton ace to Everton will include an obligation-to-buy clause worth £12.4m plus add-ons.
Romano adds the permanent deal will be triggered after a “high number of starts”.
Flamengo announced on Saturday that they’ve agreed for Alcaraz to join Everton on a loan-to-buy basis but with less than two hours to go until the transfer window closes at 11pm, the Merseysiders are yet to officially announce the move.

Romano has made some different claims about the terms of the Alcaraz deal that we’ve already heard.
Firstly, he says that the deal will be made permanent after David Moyes starts the Argentinian midfielder a lot of times. However, it’s been claimed in South America that he’ll become a full-time Everton player after just eight appearances.
That’s hardly a “high” number when Everton still have 15 Premier League matches to play this season so only an injury could derail that agreement.

Romano also says the deal is £12.4million plus add-ons.
But the news in Brazil suggests Flamengo will be agreeing around £15million for the midfielder, which is what they paid Southampton for him last year.
They are minor details but it’ll be interesting to see what the actual terms of the deal are.
It’s likely there’ll be further details once the move is formalised before 11pm on Monday night, or on Tuesday (4 February) after the dust has settled.
