Kieran Trippier’s Newcastle United future remains unresolved in the dying hours of transfer deadline day.
There has not been a lot of speculation about Kieran Trippier’s future during the January transfer window, but that has changed over the past couple of days.

Turkish giants Galatasaray are interested in Trippier, as they aim to sign a right-back. They are hoping to sign the 34-year-old, and Geordie Boot Boys have been told that Trippier wants to join Galatasaray.
That is not a major surprise, as he wanted to leave St James’ Park during the summer transfer window. However, Eddie Howe would not sanction his departure.

The latest on Kieran Trippier joining Galatasaray
Newcastle need a sizeable offer to sell Trippier, but it remains to be seen if that will arrive. But from Galatasaray’s perspective, they are in no rush to strike a deal.
According to the Telegraph, the Kieran Trippier to Galatasaray transfer is still ‘on’, but there is no rush to finalise a deal before the English transfer window closes at 11pm.
That is because the Turkish transfer window is open for another week, giving Galatasaray plenty of time to finalise an agreement to secure the veteran defender.
Newcastle United have to keep Kieran Trippier
While time is on Galatasaray’s side, that does not necessarily mean that Newcastle United are going to sanction a departure.
Eddie Howe is not happy about the Lloyd Kelly situation, which is understandable given that his looming departure significantly weakens the Newcastle United squad. Trippier leaving would make Newcastle United even weaker, which feels unfathomable at this stage of what could be a special season.
The Magpies are already taking two transfer risks in selling Miguel Almiron and Kelly without bringing in a replacement. They are risks that are worth taking.
However, letting Trippier go would be a step too far. Howe will not want to lose him, and it is extremely difficult to envision a scenario where he leaves St James’ Park in the immediate future.
