Jamie Carragher made his feelings known following Newcastle United’s second goal against Arsenal.
Jamie Carragher has called for a ban after witnessing something during Newcastle United vs. Arsenal.
Newcastle entered tonight’s Carabao Cup second-leg against Arsenal two-goals up following their victory at the Emirates last month.
And Eddie Howe’s side improved their aggregate lead in just the 19th minute following Jacob Murphy’s strike.
Anthony Gordon made it 2-0 on the night (4-0 on aggregate) in the 52nd minute after Fabian Schar pounced on some sloppy play between David Raya and Declan Rice.

Raya played a pass into Rice, who failed to control the ball, with Schar intercepting. From there, the ball fell to Gordon, who slotted him.

After Arsenal’s passage of play, Carragher called for goalkeepers to be banned from playing those kind of passes into midfielder players.

Raya’s careless pass to Rice came at a huge price as Newcastle made the most of the slack build-up from the back.
