Amanda Staveley delivers ‘incredible’ message after Newcastle United reach the Carabao Cup final
Former Newcastle United co-owner Amanda Staveley has congratulated the Magpies on reaching the 2025 Carabao Cup final.
Eddie Howe’s side advanced on Wednesday night, with Newcastle United beating Arsenal 2-0 at St James’ Park. That gave them a 4-0 win on aggregate, as the Magpies made light work of Mikel Arteta’s Premier League title challengers.
Newcastle United fans created an incredible atmosphere, as the players booked their return to Wembley.
They will hopefully go one better than 2023, when Newcastle United lost 2-0 to Manchester United.

When Newcastle made it to Wembley two years ago, Amanda Staveley was still a prominent figure at the club.
She was there alongside PIF chief Yasir Al-Rumayyan, and consoled the players after the defeat.
This time it will be different, but Staveley has still issued a message of congratulations as the Magpies prepare to compete in another Carabao Cup final.
Following the semi-final win over Arsenal, Staveley wrote on Instagram: “An outstanding performance by this incredible team. It’s wonderful to watch with joy and pride as a fan and I can’t wait for Wembley.”
Having sold her shares in the club over the summer, it will be interesting to see whether or not Staveley is at Wembley in March when Newcastle United compete in the Carabao Cup final. They will face either Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur.
If Staveley is there, she will not be as prominent as she was in 2023. Staveley consoled the players after the loss, while she was very vocal in the aftermath of the defeat.
Staveley praised the Newcastle United supporters for their efforts down in London, while she also made a major trophy prediction.
Following the loss to Man United, Staveley said: “We will win the Carabao Cup, we will win the FA Cup, we will win the Champions League and we will win the Premier League.”
Former Toon director Staveley predicted that Newcastle will eventually win the lot, but their primary focus right now is ending their trophy drought. That could happen next month, with Eddie Howe’s side reaching another cup final.
The defeat in 2023 was painful, but the experience of being in a final at Wembley was magical. But this time it is not a novelty, and Newcastle United will hopefully benefit from what happened two years ago.
