Abdoulaye Doucoure posted on social media following the chaotic aftermath of the Merseyside derby, as Everton turn their focus to their upcoming clash against Crystal Palace.

The 32-year-old midfielder was at the centre of controversy after being involved in a heated altercation with Liverpool’s Curtis Jones. The scuffle broke out after Everton netted a dramatic last-minute equaliser, with Doucoure receiving a second yellow card for his involvement after full-time.

Jones confronted Doucoure after the Everton star appeared to celebrate in front of the away fans, sparking tensions that quickly escalated.

Former PGMOL chief and ex-FIFA referee Keith Hackett has suggested that the police may get involved after a bottle was thrown from the Everton stands during the incident.

Despite the criticism, Doucoure took to Instagram to show his appreciation for Goodison Park. He posted a picture of the iconic stadium with the caption: “Under the light, nothing can beat this.” His post reflected his connection to the club, despite the frustration surrounding the match.

The Frenchman has been a regular option in the club’s starting lineup, having made 25 appearances this season under both David Moyes and former manager Sean Dyche.

He has scored twice and started 21 Premier League games. Additionally, he captained the side during their Carabao Cup defeat to Southampton in September.

Everton look to build on Liverpool draw as momentum shifts

Moyes has led a significant turnaround for Everton since replacing Sean Dyche earlier this season. Under Moyes, the Toffees have won three games, drawn one, and lost two of their six matches.

The club has managed to pull 10 points clear of the relegation zone, though they still sit in 15th place in the Premier League table.

While Doucoure will miss the upcoming match against Crystal Palace due to suspension, the team remains unbeaten in their last four games.

They now has the chance to draw level on points with 12th-placed Palace if they secure a win at Selhurst Park, taking their tally to 30 points. The momentum could be shifting, and the Toffees will look to continue their positive run.
