David Moyes’ side came into the game on the back on an exhausting Merseyside Derby on Wednesday night.
The ship has been steadied at Everton by the 61-year-old with the Toffees pulling themselves up the table and away from the bottom three.
Everton are without Iliman Ndiaye who is injured and set to miss a number of weeks with a medial ligament damage.
So, Moyes’ selection options were limited on Saturday for the trip down to Selhurst Park.
One player who was given the nod from the start was January signing Carlos Alcaraz who managed to score the winning goal.

Some Everton fans called for Alcaraz to start against Liverpool after his debut in the FA Cup against Bournemouth.
He was only able to impact the game from the bench on Wednesday night, but he made a huge impact on Saturday in south London.
Having already provided the assist for Beto, Alcaraz secured the points for Everton inside the final 10 minutes of the game.
And he was spotted pounding the Everton badge on his shirt in celebration in front of the away fans.
Moyes admitted Alcaraz has impressed him in his opening weeks on Merseyside.
It is fair to say the Argentine has taken his opportunity from the starting XI in the absence of Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Alcaraz needs to prove himself to earn a permanent Everton move having only joined from Flamengo on an initial loan deal.
However, performances like Saturday’s against Palace will do his chances no harm at all.

Moyes said he was disappointed with Doucoure for getting himself sent off in the derby on Wednesday and it could prove very costly for the Mali midfielder.
With just a matter of months remaining on his deal, the 32-year-old may now have just lost his spot in the starting XI.
