West Ham to sign Evan Ferguson immediately’ – Fans delighted by Brighton loanee

West Ham fans reacted on social media to share their reactions following Evan Ferguson’s debut appearance against Brentford.

The Hammers fell to a 1-0 defeat after conceding an early goal, with Kevin Schade finding the net for Brentford just four minutes into the match. Despite pushing for an equaliser, West Ham were unable to break through, suffering yet another disappointing result under Graham Potter.

Ferguson, who joined the club on loan in January, was introduced at half-time in an attempt to turn the game around. While he couldn’t help secure a result on his debut, his presence on the pitch still generated plenty of excitement among supporters.

Brighton fans were left frustrated by Ferguson’s departure, with speculation suggesting the club might have considered a permanent deal before ultimately allowing him to leave on loan until the end of the season.

West Ham supporters were already excited about Ferguson’s arrival in the January transfer window, and that excitement has only grown after his first 45 minutes on the pitch for the club.

Brighton could cut their losses on Evan Ferguson

It has been a difficult season for the young striker, who has made just two Premier League starts under manager Fabian Hurzeler, featuring in a total of 11 appearances.

Ferguson burst onto the scene during the 2022/23 season, scoring an impressive 16 goals and providing five assists across all competitions in what was a breakout year for the Seagulls.

However, his goal tally dropped to just six last season under Roberto De Zerbi, and since the arrival of Hurzeler last summer, he has struggled for regular game time.

Despite his recent struggles, just one half of football with West Ham has been enough to reignite excitement among fans, who are already hopeful that a permanent deal could materialise.

Graham Potter could get the best out of Evan Ferguson at West Ham

Potter took charge at West Ham following Julen Lopetegui’s departure, ending months of speculation surrounding his return to management.

However, results have been underwhelming so far, with just one win in the last six games, and injuries have further hampered the club’s progress.

Recurring fitness issues for Niclas Fullkrug and Michail Antonio have left the Hammers short of attacking options. This presents Ferguson with a huge opportunity to establish himself under the manager who originally brought him to Brighton.

Fans have already reacted with excitement to his debut cameo, with one supporter urging the club to “sign Ferguson immediately” while another commented that it’s “nice to see a proper striker at West Ham.”
