With the Merseyside Derby talk still looming large, David Moyes has now got his own back on Arne Slot.

Goodison Park witnessed brilliant scenes in the final Merseyside Derby at the stadium, as it turned ugly after the game between Everton and Liverpool.

Abdoulaye Doucoure mocked Liverpool fans leading to a red card, which has seemingly cost him in the long-term with Carlos Alcaraz breaking through.

Despite the game finishing more than a week ago now, the two clubs from Merseyside are still going at it, showing the rivalry still means more than ever.

Everton fans weren’t too happy after Liverpool boss Slot joked about Bramley-Moore Dock and now it seems Moyes has fired his own shot back at the Reds.

There has been plenty of talk about Liverpool’s main assets looking for the exit door at Anfield.

This includes Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold who still haven’t signed a new contract with the club.

Evertonians will be hoping it stays this way as Liverpool losing these three would be a detrimental loss.

However, Moyes has clearly seen the funny side of it in his pre-match press conference ahead of Man United (23:45) firing a subtle dig after speaking about signing out-of-contract players.

“I hope people are gonna look at Everton differently now,” Moyes said.

“We’ll need to work out how we bring in players in the summer.

“There’s quite a lot of players out of contract in the summer which we could look at, some not as far away from here (Liverpool).”

Everton and David Moyes can’t wait for next Liverpool meeting

It seems as though the two can’t stay away from eachother, as Moyes enjoyed the last laugh over Slot.

But the trash-talking is still continuing, and it makes for an exciting time when Everton and Liverpool meet again at Anfield in six weeks.

They’ll be many different stories to pick out, as van Dijk criticised the referee and completely lost his head after the game, with van Dijk suggesting it’s Everton’s ‘cup final’.

Adding to the fire, Slot was furious with the Everton fans, as the rematch is making for a very spicy encounter.
