Bruno Guimaraes sends clear 40-word message to his Newcastle United teammates after win vs Nottingham Forest

Newcastle United survived a late comeback attempt to beat Nottingham Forest at St James’ Park.
It was a huge game in the Champions League race and both teams knew that. It was a fantastic game for a neutral but a nail-biting one for fans of either team.
After going behind after just six minutes, Newcastle United scored four goals in 11 minutes in devastating fashion but were nearly denied all three points after Nottingham Forest scored twice in the second half.
The game ended 4-3 and the Magpies moved up to fifth in the Premier League table, taking advantage of defeats for the likes of Bournemouth and Chelsea.
Alexander Isak was praised by Lewis Miley for scoring his 50th league goal. The Swede hadn’t scored for two games but bagged a brace in Newcastle’s win against Forest. Miley received praise from Pat Nevin after having a great game in his own right – at just 18 he has proven to Eddie Howe that he should be starting more often.
Toon captain Bruno Guimaraes had a quiet game. He was forced to play in a deeper midfield role after Howe named Sandro Tonali on the bench – the Brazilian was not able to play as freely as he usually does as a result.
That did not stop him from going to social media to send a passionate message to his Newcastle teammates, however.

Guimaraes was named Newcastle captain at the start of the season after requesting to be more involved in team activities. It’s a role he has taken in his stride, becoming an influencing figure both on and off the pitch.
The 27-year-old will usually takes to social media after a game to thank the fans or congratulate a player. Sunday’s win was no different, but this time he had a big message to his teammates.
On Instagram, Guimaraes said: “Three very important points. Very happy about this, but we have to play better, especially when we have the advantage. Your support made the difference once again. Howay the boys! Big games ahead, and we keep going together as always.”
Guimaraes knows that there is still a long way to go before the end of the season. There are still 12 Premier League games, a Carabao Cup final and potentially three FA Cup games to play before the players can take a break.
There were rumours that Guimaraes could leave Newcastle at the end of the season for just £85m, but for now, he is more than committed to helping the Magpies return to the Champions League.

Newcastle must build from Nottingham Forest win
With a cup final on the horizon, it’s important that Newcastle now take the momentum from the win into their next game against Liverpool. By no means will it be an easy game as Liverpool are flying at the top of the Premier League table and look set to win another title.
At times this season, Newcastle have fallen foul for playing with more passion in some games and looking flat in others – in the run into the end of the season, Howe must demand much more from his players to give them the best possible chance of finishing in a Champions League spot.

Newcastle have the advantage and now look more likely to finish in the top five which should be enough to put them back in Europe’s top competition next season.
Playing in Europe will also have big implications on the transfer window, with the belief that Newcastle will have a ‘game-changer’ window if they play in the Champions League.
It’s down to Guimaraes to carry on bringing the best out of himself and his teammates in the run-in.
