Moyes axes attacker after what he did – Everton predicted XI v Brentford

David Moyes is expected to axe Jesper Lindstrom after the poor performance he put in against Manchester United on Saturday.

The Toffees’ clash against the Red Devils on Saturday ended in a 2-2 draw thanks to two quick-fire goals in the last 20 minutes of the game that brought Ruben Amorim’s men back level.

Everton’s next Premier League game is set to come against Brentford with a win potentially sending the Merseyside outfit as high as 12th in the league.

David Moyes to make one Everton change against Manchester United

Due to the lack of options that the Scotsman has among his ranks at the moment, only minimal changes will likely occur in his starting XI.

Jordan Pickford will obviously retain his place between the sticks after his impressive performances once again this season.

The back four is also set to stay the same with Jake O’Brien and Vitalii Mykolenko taking up the full-back roles as James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite will be holding down the fort in centre-back.

Everton’s central midfielders have often been pivotal to the way they’ve performed this term so it’s hardly surprising that James Garner and Idrissa Gueye are likely to be the link between the back four and the rest of their midfield.

At left wing could be Jack Harrison, the Englishman has been under plenty of scrutiny due to his performances this season but due to Iliman Ndiaye and Dwight McNeil being ruled out, the Leeds United loanee is likely to keep his spot.

In at right wing and the only change on the team could be Carlos Alcaraz.

Because, after the performance that Jesper Lindstrom put in against the Red Devils, it feels unlikely that Moyes would keep him in his starting XI against the Bees, especially since he was taken off in the 45th minute due to illness.

In attacking-midfield will be Abdoulaye Doucoure, although fans will likely want a couple of new faces to be added to their attacking ranks in the summer, it’s undeniable that the former Watford man has more than put in a shift each time he’s chosen.

And, last but not least, leading the line will be Beto. The former Udinese man has been in impeccable form over the last few weeks and has bagged four goals in his last four Premier League outings.

Beto is the man Everton have been looking for

When Sean Dyche was in charge, Beto was more often than not overlooked by the former Burnley boss.

And, the times he was chosen, he failed to impress and was outperformed by both Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja.

However, since they’ve been injured and Moyes has been left with Beto as his only natural number-nine, the Guinea-Bissau international has come into his own and turned into one of Everton’s most important players.

Without him leading Everton’s attacking lines over the last few weeks, it’s unclear how well Moyes would have done upon his return.

Only time will tell if he can keep this run of form up but for now, fans are likely thankful that Kevin Thelwell and co. didn’t ship him off at the start of the winter transfer window.
