Everton fans are convinced the club should do whatever it takes to get Jarrad Branthwaite to sign a new contract at the club, and David Moyes is the man to get it done.

The 22-year-old defender has been a stalwart at the back since Moyes re-joined the club in January.

The Scottish manager has engineered a brilliant turnaround in form, with the Toffee’s seemingly headed for a relegation scrap prior to his arrival.

After eight games in charge, Everton have won four, drawn three, and lost just one Premier League game under the former Man United manager.

Branthwaite has played every available minute since Moyes replaced Sean Dyche, helping his side to two clean sheets in that time.

Everton‘s most recent result was a 1-1 draw with Brentford on Wednesday evening (26 February), and the Toffees now have a break until 8 March, when they face Wolves at Molineux Stadium.

Jarrad Branthwaite drawing interest from Real Madrid and Liverpool

Branthwaite was the subject of bids from Man United last summer, but Everton were able to keep hold of the England international.

Man City had Branthwaite on their radar prior to the January transfer window, but chose to sign the more affordably priced Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis instead.

The Friedkin Group are reported likely to struggle to match offers for Branthwaite in the summer, after interest from Liverpool and Real Madrid also emerged.

The former Carlisle United defender is seen as one of Europe’s most talented central-defenders, and with Virgil van Dijk’s contract situation still unresolved, he could make a controversial cross-town move to Everton’s historic rivals.

Everton fans tell club to do whatever it takes to keep Jarrad Branthwaite

Despite news emerging of some of Europe’s heavyweights being interested in Branthwaite, fans of the club are still desperate to see Everton keep their young star, and believe a “huge” or “massive” step is on the cards to keep him in Toffees blue.

The club have been plagued by the Premier Leagues profit and sustainability rules (PSR), and selling the centre-back would go a long way when it comes to avoiding another points deduction.

However, that does not seem to matter to the fans, with one saying “give Branthwaite whatever he wants”, whilst another said “give him the keys to BMD [Bramley-Moore Dock]”, with Moyes predicted to get to work on convincing the Englishman to put pen to paper as soon as top flight survival is mathematically secured.
