As David Moyes looks to continue building on the progress he has already made with Everton, the Toffees are looking towards the summer with a revamp in mind.

Therefore, Ordonez is being eyed up as a target who can play as a right-sided centre-back in the Everton back five, with the Toffees reportedly lining up a “big offer”.

According to Alan Nixon though (2 March), if this is a move that the Merseyside outfit want to make, it will cost them £40million to do.

The 20-year-old is valued a large amount by his current side Club Brugge after impressing this season and showing his versatility to play at both centre-back and right-back.

With Aston Villa also said to be interested in the defender, the Toffees may have a battle on their hands to secure this signing but if they could pull it off, it would be a great signal of a new era at Everton.

Everton set for a big change in summer

It’s been a difficult number of seasons for Everton and although Kevin Thelwell is keen to be cautious with the summer transfer window, no one can blame supporters for getting excited about what’s to come.

As the Blues will now be able to spend money and a move to Bramley-Moor Dock at the end of the campaign, signing for the Merseyside outfit now will certainly signify new times ahead for Moyes’ side.

In fact, the Scotsman’s return to his former club probably came at the perfect time as it paints a different picture of the Blues ahead of the summer transfer window, which could make them a much more exciting prospect for a potential signing.

With the threat of relegation incredibly reduced this term too, it takes the pressure off at Goodison with them knowing that being a top-flight side will help the club massively.

A battle against a side that have played against Ordonez in the Champions League this season will not be an easy task but if they could win this race, that would surely be a good reflection of where the club are now.

What is refreshing though is that Moyes’ side doesn’t have to be put off by price tags anymore and can instead focus on what is needed to transform their squad.
