Everton are currently out in the UAE for warm weather training and also a bit of downtime following an intense past couple of months.

The club’s defeat to Bournemouth in the FA Cup recently meant the Toffees had a free weekend, and so, David Moyes and the players made the trip out a few days ago.

It’s been a superb second spell in charge so far for Moyes, who has admitted the club now have eyes on the summer already.

With the club 15 points clear of relegation right now, early planning can definitely commence.

While out in the UAE, where Jack Harrison has already impressed, Moyes has been speaking about what’s happened since he returned to the club – and has noticed a key change recently behind the scenes.

Currently, Everton are on a seven-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.

Few Evertonians would have expected something quite like that.

But Moyes has come in and breathed new life into the club, and raised the confidence of every player in the squad.

Moyes himself admits he did not expect things to go this well, and has now shared something exciting he has noticed behind the scenes recently.

He said: “I don’t think I could have imagined it going as well as it has because the position the team were in at the time didn’t look as if it was too healthy.

“We’re certainly in a much healthier position than we were then. I think the players responded brilliantly well.

“The crowd have responded brilliantly well, and I can tell even behind the scenes that [everyone is] just beginning to get a feeling back that we can get back to being a really big club again and trying to be successful.

“We’ve come away for a couple of days to try and get ourselves ready for the remaining games of the season. So it’s good to get away for a few days.”
An incredible impact from Moyes as The Friedkin Group’s appointment bears fruit

It seems like the whole mood around Everton has done a complete 180 in the last couple of months.

Things looked so bleak under Sean Dyche, and many felt sure that a relegation battle would be on the cards.

There were also suggestions some players were disgruntled under him. Jake O’Brien recently admitted he was unhappy under Dyche.

And striker Beto has also suggested he was unhappy under Dyche.

It’s great to hear that Moyes thinks there’s been a big shift in mentality behind the scenes and that everyone now believes Everton can get back to being a big club.

The future is very exciting with the move to Bramley-Moore Dock, and hopefully, things can continue on this trajectory under Moyes.

Fans would like to believe that Everton can push for Europe again, rather than look over their shoulder.
