Bruno Guimaraes wants Newcastle to be united ahead of the Carabao Cup final, as problems mount up.

The Magpies were already going to be up against it in the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool. After all, Liverpool are the Premier League leaders under Arne Slot and look destined to become champions.

Newcastle United were always going to be the underdogs at Wembley, and now they are even more up against it.

Anthony Gordon is suspended, with the 24-year-old now serving a three-match ban after receiving a red card during Newcastle’s FA Cup loss to Brighton.

The Magpies have now lost another key player ahead of the Carabao Cup final, with Lewis Hall injured.

Bruno Guimaraes reacts to Lewis Hall injury news

The club have confirmed that the 20-year-old will miss the rest of the season after injuring a bone in his foot during the recent defeat to Liverpool.

That is a devastating blow, as Lewis Hall has been exceptional this season in black and white.

Following the news that Hall’s campaign is over, Bruno Guimaraes has delivered a message to his teammate.

The Newcastle United captain has written on his Instagram story ‘speedy recovery my guy’ alongside a picture of Hall.

Lewis Hall will miss the rest of the 2024/25 season after sustaining an injury to a bone in his foot.

Following a scan and advice from a specialist, Lewis will undergo surgery before a period of rehabilitation with the club’s medical team.

Bruno Guimaraes must step up for Newcastle United

In the space of a few days, Newcastle United have lost two guaranteed starters. Gordon and Hall will not be involved at Wembley, which will make it even more difficult for the Magpies to end their trophy drought.

With two important players set to miss out, Newcastle’s other stars are suddenly under even more pressure to deliver on March 16th.

That is certainly true for Bruno, who will lead the team out as captain in the Carabao Cup final.

More so than ever, he needs to put in a captain’s performance. He has to lead by example and inspire his teammates to greatness, despite Newcastle not being able to deploy their best team.

Following the Magpies’ FA Cup exit, Bruno told Newcastle fans to ‘blame’ him, but called on everyone associated with the club to remain ‘united’.

That message is now even more important following Newcastle’s latest setback.
