Jamie O’Hara’s Tottenham Hotspur rants are becoming tiresome.
Just ask Jason Cundy.

In what has become a familiar sight and sound on talkSPORT’s The Sports Bar throughout the season, O’Hara held nothing back after watching yet another lacklustre display from his former employers.
The latest was a 1-0 defeat in the first leg of Tottenham’s Europa League last 16 tie away to Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar, who sit sixth in the Eredivisie.
A brutal own goal from Tottenham’s Lucas Bergvall was all that separated the two sides.
However, had it not been for a number of impressive stops from Guglielmo Vicario, Ange Postecoglou’s side would need to overturn a deficit much larger than the one goal in the return leg.

Despite boasting 62 per cent possession, Tottenham had just one shot on target to AZ’s five.
Postecoglou also may have lost one of his key players almost as quickly as he returned, with the Australian conceding Dominic Solanke picked up a knock in the contest.
Given the Europa League is Tottenham’s last chance of silverware this season, O’Hara expected far more than what the team turned out in Alkmaar.
“Oh, Jase,” O’Hara began on talkSPORT.
“Look, it’s the same old story, Jase. It really is. And I feel like I’m banging my head against a wall every time.”
Cundy replied by asking his co-host what he meant by ‘story’.

Away O’Hara went in his lengthy rant, as he bemoaned how Tottenham struggle to play up to the occasion.
“We’re just so average in the big games,” O’Hara said.
At this point, a cheeky producer inserted a violin playing in the background, to which O’Hara replied: “You know what, I’m going to ignore it.”
O’Hara added: “The big games, you expect big players to step up to the plate. That tonight was a cup final.
“This is all Ange has got to play for, this is all that the players have got to play for. The Premier League is gone. We’re going to finish mid-table.
“So all that matters now is the Europa League. Champions League football we can get if we win. And I expected a bigger performance.”

The loss to AZ also made the cut for what O’Hara described as Tottenham’s ‘absolutely embarrassing’ performances, with the FA Cup loss to Aston Villa and a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Liverpool in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final joining it.
O’Hara then turned his focus to three players who he believed were below par on Thursday evening.
“(Heung-Min) Son, come on mate,” O’Hara said.
“Step up to the plate.
“(James) Maddison, you’ve got Roy Keane digging you out. There’s your moment to step up and produce something big for the club. Safe as houses, scared to lose the game, no ideas going forward.
“Brennan Johnson, unless he’s scoring a tap-in, what’s he actually giving us? You’ve got to do more, you have to do more.”

O’Hara’s rant then took him to how well Paris Saint-Germain’s wingers performed against Liverpool and the directness with which they played.
As O’Hara continued, the camera cut to Cundy, who hilariously pretended to be fast asleep.
But so passionate was O’Hara’s monologue, he didn’t even take notice of his sleeping colleague.
“What was that performance?” O’Hara continued.
“Biggest game of the season and that’s the performance you put in as professional players, playing for Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League?
“I had to get it out because I don’t want to talk about it again. That’s me done on it.”

Luckily for O’Hara, Postecoglou and everyone else connected with Tottenham, there is still another leg to come.

With only one goal in it, there will be plenty of expectation Tottenham can turn it around when the two teams meet again in north London on March 13.
But should the worst-case scenario eventuate next Thursday, Cundy better be prepared for yet another lengthy O’Hara rant.
