Since David Moyes returned to Everton for a second spell, he’s fired the club well clear of relegation danger.

The Toffees were languishing just above the relegation zone when Sean Dyche was in post but David Moyes’ men are now sitting 16 points clear.

Everton are above Moyes’ former clubs Manchester United and West Ham as it stands, which evinces the grass isn’t always greener.

The Scotsman was brutally sacked by United in 2013 whilst his time at the Hammers came to an end largely due to his style of play – which some supporters didn’t align with.

Moyes is now feeling the love at Goodison Park, though, and he’s actually just achieved something that he never managed at Man United.

David Moyes goes eight games unbeaten for the first time since 2012

Everton’s 1-1 draw against Wolves last night extended their unbeaten streak to a remarkable eight consecutive games.

It’s the first time Moyes has gone that long without defeat since his first spell at Everton in 2012 – he didn’t even achieve that feat during his stint at Man United.

Whilst wins have dried up a little of late, Everton are still so tough to beat and that’s even with the current injuries.

Iliman Ndiaye, Dwight McNeil, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja are just a few of the players sidelined at the moment.

Everton set for a tough run now

Everton’s unbeaten streak will really come under pressure over the next five games as they face four teams fighting for Champions League football.

Next Saturday’s game against West Ham is indeed the most winnable and then it’s the Merseyside Derby against Liverpool at Anfield.

Moyes’ side will be desperate to upset their title hopes and after tempers boiled over in the reverse fixture, it’s promised to be a spectacular watch for the neutral.
