The game is never going to go down as a classic, and one goal was all it took to take the three points on the night, which summed up the game.
However, West Ham feel aggrieved that Bruno Guimaraes’ 63rd minute goal was allowed to stand after what they deemed to be a push by Alexander Isak into the back of Max Kilman.
Replays showed the push and it does throw Kilman off balance, however, the referee and VAR deemed the goal to be perfectly okay.

Potter bemoaned the decision on Sky Sports after the game and then doubled down on his claims in the post-match press conference as reported by The Northern Echo where he went into more detail regarding his claims that Alexander Isak’s reaction confirmed his suspicions.
“We think it’s clear. It’s two hands on the back of the defender. You can see from how Isak celebrates, or doesn’t celebrate, that he thinks it’s a push.
“But the ones that matter don’t. That’s life and you have to get on with it.
“I feel for the players, they put such a lot into the game. It was a really committed performance.”
We don’t think the push changed the outcome
We aren’t going to lie and say we didn’t see the push, it is quite blatant, but VAR checked and cleared it, and that’s good enough for us.
Our point of view is that the ball had already cleared Kilman before the push threw him off course, so without the push, he didn’t look like he was reaching the ball anyway.
We dare bet that West Ham fans would disagree, but what’s done is done.
