Everton stadium: Legal firm Hill Dickinson to be naming rights partner of new ground
Liverpool-based legal firm Hill Dickinson is the naming rights partner for Everton’s new stadium.
The new arena will be named the Hill Dickinson Stadium after the company, which has its headquarters in the city.
Everton told BBC Sport that the agreement is financially one of the largest stadium naming rights deals in Europe.
They will move to the new ground at Bramley-Moore Dock for the start of the 2025-26 season, leaving their current home of Goodison Park.
Everton men’s team will play their final match at their old stadium on Sunday when they host Southampton in the Premier League.
The club’s women’s team will move into Goodison Park as their permanent home from the start of next campaign.
With a capacity of 52,888, the new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock will officially open in August.
Test events have already been held at the ground, including the first football match there between the under-18 teams of Everton and Wigan.
Everton said the partnership with Hill Dickinson, which was founded in 1810 – 68 years before the football club – is “a long-term agreement”.
Hill Dickinson chief executive officer Craig Scott said: ”To put our name to Everton’s new stadium is a once-in-a-generation opportunity.
“We believe deeply in what this project stands for – a bold, transformational vision for Liverpool and its future.”
Phil: Love it, a proper company with a long-term commitment. Everton moving up!
Niamh: We don’t like it and we prefer Bramley-Moore. The new stadium name highlights how society has become obsessed with economic opportunity where instead football should be a social and cultural celebration rather than a liquified commodity.
Steve: Not a great name, but I think after all these years, it’ll be continued to be called Bramley-Moore either way.
Geoff: Not sure about the new name. The deal might be worth big money but the name sets us up for endless mickey taking on the sponsors name. Surely it shouldn’t be just about who stumps up the most cash? We have to live with this name until the deal runs out. Just ask Bolton fans.

Sydney: Think it’s a big let down from an iconic name of Goodison Park to Hill Dickinson. First big thing they had to get right and they messed it up. What a let down regardless of what money they paid for the privilege.

Everton fans are convinced they’ve seen the last of Abdoulaye Doucoure at Goodison Park after his late substitution against Southampton.
David Moyes‘ side coasted to a comfortable 2-0 victory over the Saints in the last match Everton’s men’s first-team will play at Goodison Park, ahead of their move to the new Hill Dickinson Stadium this summer.
Iliman Ndiaye was at the double for Everton with goals at the start and end of the first half; his second a fine individual effort which put any hope of a Southampton fightback to bed as Goodison was farewelled in style.
Several of Everton’s out-of-contract veterans like Seamus Coleman and Ashley Young were waved off by the home crowd for the final time at Goodison, but doubts continue to linger over other players’ futures.

Doucoure waves goodbye amid Everton contract saga
Although the departures of Asmir Begovic, Joao Virginia and the aforementioned Young have all been confirmed by Everton in recent days, Doucoure is one of several whose contractual status is in limbo.
Football Insider revealed on 12 May that Doucoure and his fellow midfielder Idrissa Gueye could yet be offered new deals to extend their spells on Merseyside, but the latter is far more likely to stay put.

Doucoure wished Young well after his departure was announced, but his emotional response to being substituted against Southampton saw the Mali international receive a standing ovation at Goodison Park.
The 32-year-old’s exit in the 65th minute saw all four sides of the stadium rise to applaud him as he was replaced by Carlos Alcaraz, and several Evertonians believe it’s the last time they’ll see Doucoure in blue.

Everton fans respond to Doucoure exit – ‘thank you for your service’
Doucoure has never been a universally popular figure amid inconsistent form and a lack of cutting edge in their most creative position, but some of his actions this term have endeared him to Everton fans.
Several called for Doucoure to be given a new contract after his last-minute winner at Nottingham Forest last month, a goal which ended a six-match winless streak and kick-started a run of three victories in six.
With Doucoure’s “viaibly emotional” farewell on Sunday though, the Toffees faithful were convinced that the Malian’s exit is certain, and while some said he “goes with nothing but the best”, others added that he “embodies the grit of this club” better than most.
