Everton must refrain from making U-turn on Doucoure decision

Abdoulaye Doucoure will find himself out of contract at Everton upon the conclusion of the current campaign.

Ever since the appointment of David Moyes, there have been plenty of improvements made on the pitch, though there have still been some concerns.

One of those concerns comes in the form of Doucoure, who has failed to replicate his early season form at Everton over the last few weeks, or even maybe months.

With TFG set for their first summer in charge of the Toffees, they have will have some crucial decisions to make to ensure that they keep progressing, and they mist stick with the one they have made on the Mali international.

At 32 years old, he is not going to improve any further, and if anything, his performance levels have already started to regress at a rapid rate, and this summer provided the perfect opportunity to part ways.

For far too long now, the Toffees have been challenging at the wrong end of the table, and for that to be avoided again next season, some tough decisions will be required in the summer.

While Doucoure has been an excellent servant for Everton, there comes a time when it is best for all parties to move on, and that time will be now.

Everton ready for major summer rebuild

This summer will provide the Toffees with the best opportunity yet to kick on and start progressing as a club on and off the pitch.

Relegation battles have become standard practice on Merseyside, and that can be changed through smart decision making and investment.

Moyes simply needs to be backed in the window with players that can elevate Everton to a whole new level.

As for now, the main focus will be on ensuring that Everton have as strong a finish to the current campaign as possible.
