Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Jadon Sancho, who is currently on loan at Chelsea from Manchester United. With Chelsea considering letting Sancho go back to Manchester United, and the Red Devils potentially not wanting to keep him, Spurs see an opportunity to swoop in and acquire the English winger.
Sancho has had limited playing time at Chelsea, with only 300 minutes of action this season, and his erratic form has caused the Blues to think twice about keeping him permanently. Chelsea’s obligation to buy Sancho for £25 million this summer can be voided if they pay a significant fee to Manchester United.
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is an admirer of Sancho and believes he can bring out the best in him. Spurs are looking for more firepower on the flanks, and Sancho could be an ideal long-term replacement for Son Heung-min, who is in the twilight of his career.
While Chelsea’s change of heart about Sancho’s future at the club has opened the door for Tottenham, any deal won’t be straightforward. Manchester United’s new boss, Ruben Amorim, may also have a say in Sancho’s future. Nonetheless, Tottenham’s interest in Sancho is genuine, and they could make a move to sign him in the summer.
