Manchester United fans have reacted in anger after the latest update on their long-standing pursuit of Jarrad Branthwaite.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed another impressive season at Everton, once again catching the attention of the Red Devils.

Man United made multiple bids for Branthwaite last summer but saw them rejected, eventually opting to sign Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro instead.

Branthwaite had already agreed personal terms with Man United, but a deal never materialised as the two clubs failed to settle on a fee for the defender.

Despite missing out on the move, he has continued to deliver top performances for Everton, reinforcing his reputation as one of the league’s most promising centre-backs.

Football Insider revealed on 4 March that Everton are determined to keep hold of Branthwaite and will “do everything” to secure him on a new contract.

Man United prepared to go ‘all out’ for Jarrad Branthwaite this summer

According to The Sun, United are “ready to meet” Everton’s valuation for Branthwaite and are set to go “all out” to secure his signature.

Lipton added that “Branthwaite is ready to consider the move” and that “United believe they can get the deal done.”

The 22-year-old has been a standout performer ever since he broke into the Everton first team, earning an England call-up last season. However, he missed out on Thomas Tuchel’s first squad selection.

Branthwaite previously turned down a contract offer from Everton in November, sparking speculation that United could make another approach in January.

However, no move materialised at the time. Now, fresh reports suggest that the club have reignited their interest ahead of a potential summer transfer.

Man United fans slam Branthwaite as Ayden Heaven impresses

United strengthened their defence in January by signing Ayden Heaven from Arsenal, a player who had made just one senior appearance for the Gunners before his move.

Despite his limited experience, Heaven has made a strong impression to Man United fans, leading some fans to question the need for Branthwaite.

One supporter said, “I genuinely don’t see why we are obsessed with this player” while another claimed, “He has been a liability for Everton.”

Others backed Heaven as the preferred left-sided centre-back, with one fan stating, “Don’t need him… Heaven and Martinez at LCB.”

Forget this guy, he’s an overrated Englishman

I simply don’t understand this obsession

We don’t want him nor need him

Putting my thoughts on Branthwaite aside, £50M for another CB in the context of our financial limitstions and other holes in our squad seems nuts. https://t.co/fdfhZES4zc

I genuinely don’t see why we are obsessed with this player. Every time I have watched him play he has been a liability for Everton. He gets bullied off the ball. Hardly wins any aerial duels, very slow and not commanding. I would much rather just keep Lindelof than wasting money

No thank you! We don’t need to spend that much on a CB when there are plenty of great, young, cheaper talents in Europe and we have players who are filling those roles and starting for us.
I don’t believe we would spend more than £25mil on a CB this Summer when striker is our…

This ship has surely sailed. Would rather Martinez, Heaven and Kukonki battle it out over the next few years. Diego Leon can also play there as can Maz.
